Evidence and Commitment of the Government in Building Papua

Infrastructure development by the government is currently not only centered on the island of Java and big cities, but also in the border areas, frontier islands, and remote in Papua. This is evidence and serious commitment of the Government in developing Papua.

One of them is the provision of adequate housing as basic infrastructure for low-income people (MBR) living in border areas and remote islands in Papua Province through the Special House (Rusus) program of the Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR).

Bernard Sie (62), a resident of Rusus in Skow Village, Muara Tami District, Jayapura City, claimed he was very happy to be able to live in his homeland by occupying a house built by the Government.

The Rusus he occupies is one of 50 Rusus units built by the Ministry of PUPR through the Directorate General of Housing Provision in 2015.

"I am happy because the Government provides services to make people's lives better. I must say, the Government of Indonesia is one of the best of many countries that I know of, "said Bernard Sie, who lives with his wife and 8 children.

He added, economically he could not build a house like this. But with the attention of the Government from the Center to the Regions, they also have a heart for the people, finally we Papuans can have a house like this.
