DPPU facilities inaugurated include 3 avtur tanks with a capacity of 500 KL, a water tank with a capacity of 700 KL, 4 pumps with a flow volume of 70 cubic meters per hour, filter separators, Terminal Automation System, civil facilities (office buildings and other supporting buildings), as well HSSE facilities (fire extinguisher, fire pipes and pumps, etc.).

The inauguration was carried out by PT Pertamina (Persero) Vice President Operation & Services, Kusumo Wibowo, accompanied by PT Pertamina (Persero) Vice President Reliability & Project, Budi YP Hutagaol, PT Pertamina (Persero) Region Operations VIII General Manager of PT Pertamina (Persero), Gema Iriandus Pahalawan , and Assistant I to the Mayor of Sorong, Rachman.

The Sorong DEPU DPPU development project was approved in 2016 to offset the trend of increasing Avtur sales volume at Sorong DEO Airport, with investment approval for the Implementation of the DEO DPPU Relocation Project worth Rp112 billion.
