SKPT Biak Numfor fish market renovation in 2020

The Ministry of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries (KKP) through the Integrated Marine Fisheries Center (SKPT) of Biak Numfor Regency, Papua in 2020 will renovate the fish market and jetty with the support of Japan's JICA ODA cooperation.

"In December the tender for the Fandoi fish market renovation project and the Bosnik fish market and the fishing pier have begun to be tendered," Head of the Biak Fisheries Service Numfor Effendi Igirisa told reporters in Biak on Thursday.

He hopes that the tender stages for the renovation of the fish market and fishing pier can run smoothly according to the work schedule.

The renovation of the fish market and the pier is believed to support SKPT Biak services. "The Biak Fisheries Service Office hopes that the physical program of the fish market and fishery pier renovation can be completed on time according to the 2020 program agenda," he said.

Previously, the Director of the Disadvantaged Regions of Transmigration and Rural Ministry of National Development Planning / Bappenas Velix V.Wanggai mentioned the government's collaboration program with Japan's JICA for the fisheries and marine sector.

"There is a budget of around Rp. 30 billion prepared by JICA Japan to support the Biak SKPT program," said Velix Wanggai while in Biak.

In 2019 SKPT has operated an integrated frozen warehouse (cold storage) with a capacity of 200 tons to meet the needs of fishermen.
