The leaders suggested that for the future development of Papua, Papuans and business people should be involved in and asking the central government to remain consistent in implementing special autonomy.

Responding to that, Mahfud stressed that from the beginning the government did not give different treatment to certain provinces, neither did Papua. The government, said Mahfud, has always tried to put Papua at the forefront of development in terms of funding and other programs, such as for the development of education. Even so, he admitted, there are still many development problems in terms of infrastructure in Papua, so this is the central point of attention of the government so far.
