Mimika Regency Government contributes 27 thousand poor BPJS Health

The Government of Mimika Regency, Papua Province, in the 2020 budget year will bear BPJS Health contributions for 27,303 underprivileged residents in its area.
.
Mimika District BPJS Head of Health Office Susan G Gasperz said in Timika on Monday that in January the Mimika Regency Government had paid health contributions for poor people totaling Rp1.171 billion.
.
"For the collaboration of BPJS Health with Mimika Regency Government will continue until 31 December 2020. Mimika Regency Government has prepared a budget for that," said Susan.
.
According to Susan, the amount of health contributions from underprivileged citizens to be paid by the Mimika Regency Government is fluctuating. At present, the local social service is still trying to make some of the less fortunate citizens become Revenue Assistance Receipts (PBI) from the APBN.
.
"If later there are PBI Health participants from Mimika APBD sources being transferred to PBI Health from APBN sources, then automatically the number of participants borne by the Mimika Regency Government will decrease," he said.
.
Susan said that currently BPJS Health is collaborating with four hospitals in Mimika Regency, namely Mitra Masyarakat Hospital (RSMM), Mimika District Hospital, Kasih Herlina Hospital and Tembagapura Hospital owned by PT Freeport Indonesia which specifically serves BPJS Health membership of Freeport active workers along with 10 large subcontractor companies.
.
The BPJS Health Mandiri participants can access health services at the first level health facilities or referral level health facilities at three hospitals in Mimika if they are not in arrears in payment of contributions.
.
Since December 2019, BPJS Kesehatan has opened a special service for independent participants who are requesting a change in class from class 1 to class 2 or from class 2 to class 3 or from class 1 to class 3.
.
"There are quite a lot of people who come to take care of this class change, five to 10 people can per day. We continue to provide socialization to participants to take advantage of this opportunity so as not to burden independent participants with an increase in BPJS Health contributions" "Susan said.
.
Health NPJS participants must not be in arrears to be able to access all available health services, if in arrears they will automatically not be able to access services anywhere.
