The police finally named the suspect related to raising the Morning Star flag in front of the Merdeka Palace on Wednesday (08/28/2019). They were named as suspects for alleged treason based on Articles 106 and 110 of the Indonesian Criminal Code.

The Head of the Public Information Bureau (Karo Penmas) of the National Police Public Relations Division Brigadier General (Pol) Dedi Prasetyo said that he considered the potential security disturbances that might arise, if at that time immediately followed up on raising the Morning Star flag during a demonstration.

Of the two, the police confiscated two mobile phones, 1 T-shirt with a picture of the Morning Star, 1 scarf with a Morning Star picture, and one toa. The element of intent The police suspect that there was an element of intent that was carried out by two suspects in the case of raising the Morning Star flag during a demonstration which was also carried out in the Medan Merdeka Barat area.

"If you see from the confiscated evidence, it means that there is an element of intent," said Dedi.

Dedi said, based on the results of witness testimony, the action had been prepared. Preparation in question is the invitation, transportation, to the loudspeaker. In fact, the suspect AT allegedly prepared the Morning Star flag for the action. Therefore, the police are of the view that the action was carried out deliberately.

The Criminal Code (KUHP), Articles 106 and 110 explain, Makar with the intention that all or part of the country's territory falls into enemy hands or separates part of the country's territory from others, will be charged with a maximum prison sentence of twenty years, this is a one of the efforts or invitations to liberate Papua and separate themselves from the Homeland.
