The existence of OPM is a Threat to the Republic of Indonesia

The existence of OPM is a Threat to the Republic of Indonesia

The Free Papua Organization (OPM) is a rebel who will do everything he can to achieve his goals, namely to separate himself from the Unitary Republic of Indonesia. OPM's rebellion repeatedly caused many civilian and military casualties.

Not only did it revolt OPM also tried to continue to garner support from abroad. Including, propagandizing the international community to support the Free West Papua movement by raising the issue of human rights violations on Cenderawasih Earth.

The existence of OPM is a threat to the Republic of Indonesia. The reason is that the organization has undermined the country's sovereignty by trying to separate itself from the Unitary Republic of Indonesia. What the OPM is doing is a form of treason against legitimate government.

They can also be called terrorists because they interfere with public safety. The government must continue to work to resolve the OPM problem. Homeland prices are dead. This means that no piece of land can be separated from Indonesia. This means that the effort to liberate some parts of Indonesia is a treason to legitimate government.

The concept of a unitary state that places Papua as part of Indonesia is contrary to their political doctrine (OPM). To achieve its goals, OPM often acts violently. That, he said, was because the OPM believed acts of violence were part of a reliable strategy for Papuan independence.

The strategy of bringing the issue of Papua to an international stage is part of an effort to draw the world's attention to Papua. In this context we must place the Papuan problem in the international world in the eyes of relations between interests, both politically and economically of each country.

The existence of OPM is a threat to the Republic of Indonesia's sovereignty. So, according to him, military operations are one way to overcome this problem. Although, the problem in Papua still has to be settled is not only about OPM. But there are other issues like welfare issues that require a different approach.
