Pertamina Encourages the Construction of Jobber-Gas Stations in the Central Mountains of Papua

PT Pertamina (Persero) encourages the construction of a jobber (mini fuel terminal) and Kompak gas stations in the Central Highlands region of Papua to facilitate the distribution of fuel to a number of areas that are still quite difficult to reach.

Gema Iriandus Pahalawan General Manager of Pertamina MOR VIII said that the meeting held with the heads of regions in the Central Highlands region of Papua was a form of commitment from his side to provide and distribute fuel throughout Indonesia.

"The essence of this meeting is so that people in Papua, especially in the Central Mountains region can enjoy One Price BBM, the same as in other regions," he said in Jayapura, Friday (1/17).

This meeting also aims to build synergy with local governments by mapping to determine the new Kompak gas stations in several of these districts as well as in the framework of the success of the government program namely the One Price BBM Program in 2020.

"Pertamina hopes that with the support of the regional government through this memorandum of understanding, a Technical Team will be formed to discuss strategic and technical matters related to the construction of the SPBU Kompak and Jobber Suator," he said.

He explained that the construction of Jobber Suator's supply point is expected to increase fuel availability and maintain affordability of fuel prices. "In the future, PT Patra Logistik as a subsidiary of Pertamina will help the local government in terms of fuel distribution in the Central Mountains region of Papua," he said again.

Previously, PT Pertamina (Persero) and its subsidiary PT Patra Logistik, and six regional heads of the Central Highlands region of Papua (Regency of Puncak, Tolikara, Mamberamo Tengah, Yahukimo, Yalimo and Asmat) signed a memorandum of understanding regarding the construction of Jobber (mini fuel terminal) and the Compact SPBU in Papua Region on Wednesday (1/15) in Surabaya.

This meeting agreed on the construction of the Jobber and SPBU Kompak, and the formation of a strategic team for the discussion of the Sberor Jobber development plan, Asmat Regency, Papua Province.
