As one of the strategic infrastructures in the economic artery in Jayapura City, the role of traditional markets is very significant in carrying out its functions. "Traditional markets are places for buying and selling goods. Our traders manage as well as possible so as not to trade carelessly, "said Awi.

Some of the biggest traditional markets in Jayapura City are Hamadi Market, Entrop Market, Yotefa Market and Tanjung Ria Market. In addition to structuring traders, said Awi, Jayapura City Government (Pemkot) is also revitalizing traditional markets to attract buyers to come shopping.

The Mayor of Jayapura, Benhur Tomi Mano said that he continued to make breakthroughs in improving services to the community because this was in accordance with Law No. 23 of 2014 concerning Regional Government.
