Benny Wenda's rot began to smell

Benny Wenda's rot began to smell

This is not the first time Benny Wenda lied, he claimed to have submitted a petition of 1.8 million Papuans who approved the referendum on Papuan independence from Indonesia. Later it was confirmed that the petition had never been submitted by Benny Wenda to the United Nations Special Decolonization Committee.

Benny said the petition was smuggled from villages in Papua to avoid apprehension. But the Chairperson of the United Nations Decolonization Special Committee (C-24) Rafael Ramirez said he felt strange and had never received a petition from anyone related to Papuan independence.

"As Chair of the United Nations Decolonization Special Committee, neither I nor the Committee Secretariat, have ever received, formally or informally, petitions or anyone about Papua as reported in the Guardian newspaper," Ramirez said.

According to the Indonesian Ambassador to the United Nations, Triansyah Djani, this is not the first time the separatist group Benny Wenda has spread hoaxes and lies to the public. A lie is always conveyed by separatists whenever there is a big meeting attended by high UN officials.

"Last year Benny Wenda mentioned that he had submitted documents about Papua to the UN Secretary General, but after being confirmed to the UN Secretary General's office, it was a lie," Triansyah stressed.
