| TNI Requests PNG Entrance to be Closed |
After the shootout, members of the Border Security Task Force (Satgas Pamtas) and the armed criminal group (KKB) in Keerom. The TNI coordinated with the Indonesian consulate in Papua New Guinea (PNG) to immediately close the door in and out of the border with RI because it was close to the location of the crossfire.

The shootout with the KKB occurred with members of Infantry Battalion 713 / ST who were stationed at the Bewan Baru Post. The KKB group attacked when TNI members took logistics at the Kaliasin Post.
