Papuans Synergize to Support Infrastructure Development

Deputy Minister of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR), John Wempi Wetipo, called on Papuans to support infrastructure development that continues to be encouraged by the government in Papua.
.
"We and the community must work together. Our hope is that together we support all the infrastructure that the government is working to make it happen in the Land of Papua," said John Wempi, Wednesday (11/12/2019).
.
Of all the infrastructure projects undertaken in Papua, obstacles only occur in the construction of the trans Papua road. Construction of the 2,300 km road is still constrained by heavy terrain and security situation.
.
The construction of the Trans Papua road continues to be carried out even though it has been interrupted on its way by the Armed Criminal Group (KKB). The most phenomenal KKB disruption occurred on 1 December 2018 where a number of PT Istaka Karya workers were massacred in Mbua District, Nduga Regency.
 .
"President Jokowi has a new breakthrough to improve connectivity between regions and will certainly be completed by 2020," said Deputy Minister of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR) John Wempi Wetipo in Jayapura, Papua, Wednesday, 4 December 2019.
 .
Wempi explained, to facilitate the construction of the Trans Papua road there must be support from all stakeholders. According to Wempi, all related parties must work together in the development.
.
In addition, the Sota Cross-border Post (PLBN) at the Papua New Guinea border will be completed by the end of 2019. The development of the PLBN is the Government's commitment to continue the development of the PLBN until 2021, in accordance with the Nawacita mandate initiated by President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) five years ago, namely "Building from the Side".
