Papua Tolerance One Furnace 3 Stone

Papua Tolerance One Furnace 3 Stone

Christmas greetings are always the pros and cons ahead of December 25. Unlike in West Papua, this is not something to be questioned. Because the diversity of religions has blended into the tradition, institutions, government, and in social life.
.
The principle of values of tolerance or local wisdom has been handed down by previous generations. When Zending Ottow and Gesler spread Christianity (5 February 1855) they were escorted and escorted by boat from the Muslim Sultanate of Tidore.
.
In one family or clan there are Muslims and Christians, known as family religion. Thus was born the term religious harmony: One Furnace of Three Stones, namely Islam, Christianity, and customs united in one harmony.
.
There is a village called Namatota in Kaimana 100% of the population is Muslim, but the only school there is SD YPK (Christian Education Foundation). "From the beginning the original inhabitants here did not want to change or replace this school into a state or become a Muslim foundation," said Abdur Rahman Labubun, Principal of the Yamat Regional School, Namatota.
.
The elementary school has been the only one in the Namatota archipelago since the 1970s. Many alumni have become officials of the school such as Mohamad Lakotani, Deputy Governor of West Papua and Ahmad Nasrau, Chair of the West Papua MUI.
.
Parents of Namatota who are descendants of King Namatota are reluctant to have another school because it has been agreed by parents that the school is a value of harmony passed down by their Muslim ancestors.
.
"They are afraid to change the name of the school even though it is being negated," Abdur Rahman added. Previously 100% Muslim students, now out of 110 students only 8 are non-Muslims namely migrant children from Maluku, and 3 teachers are all Muslim.
.
And vice versa, three Muhammadiyah Universities (Muhammadiyah Sorong University, Muhammadiyah Sorong Education University and STKIP Muhammadiyah Manokwari) 60-80% of students are non-Muslims and native Papuan children.
.
"Studying at Muhammadiyah colleges there are compulsory courses for all students including non-Muslims even though they are AIK Al Islam and Kemuhammadiyahaan. Namely to introduce the values of Islam and Muhammadiyah itself. There is no problem, "said Mulyadi, AIK lecturer at Muhammadiyah Manokwari STKIP.
.
So beautiful is the practice of tolerance in West Papua. Therefore it is reasonable for West Papua to be considered to have the # 1 Harmony Index in Indonesia compared to 34 other provinces.
