The Papua Development Conference also discussed the issue of education which is still a concern of local and central governments. "Papuan children don't like to study quietly in class. They are more active in activities. Therefore, our new Minister of Education, Nadiem Makarim, wants children to no longer memorize, "he said.

"Fourth, equitable access to and quality of education to minimize education disparities across Indonesia," James said.

Children are also invited to be able to be critical in the practice of teaching and learning activities. In addition, James also emphasized that Papuan children can be free in receiving education. There are four main points of the independent learning policy.
