Hano Wene became one of the social communities that focused on literacy and education for the interior of Papua. The volunteers collected book donations and distributed them to build a library in remote villages in Papua.
.
Hano Wene is taken from the local language Wamena which means good news. Neas Wanimbo (25), the initiator said the difficulty of getting access to books, the limitations of the teacher, and the education that was left behind at school were some of the reasons for the birth of this community.
.
With that condition, Neas said that he wanted to solve the problem of education in his homeland, one of which was by giving access to books for younger siblings who were still in school, including completing illiteracy.
.
He who has just graduated from college in Jakarta and has been abroad several times believes that everyone must have the same rights, including access to education. Neas also mentioned that there had been a scholar with himself from this village, but he did not want to return to his hometown.
.
"I want to focus here first (especially on the fulfillment of books), then other parts of Papua, and maybe in some other areas as well," he said.
