Inauguration of the Youtefa Bridge momentum Papuan youth chasing achievements

Jayapura (ANTARA) - Papua Province Red Cross (BMP) Chairperson Ramses Ohee said the inauguration of the Youtefa Bridge by President Joko Widodo was a momentum for Papuan youths to rise to carve out and pursue achievements.
.
"The inauguration of the Youtefa Bridge by President Jokowi is a momentum for the young generation of Papua to have the spirit to build and foster a sense of unity and to become a unifying bridge for the nation," he said in Jayapura City, Papua, Thursday (10/31).
.
Moreover, he said, the inauguration momentum coincided with the commemoration of the Youth Oath Day 2019, so that this spirit could be used as a motor to work in various fields.
.
Therefore, he continued, today's youth, especially in Papua, must be the successors to the nation's fighting spirit and must have a large soul to defend the Unitary Republic of Indonesia from various enemy attacks that have different forms compared to the period of struggle.
.
"I call on the young generation from Sabang to Merauke to defend the Republic of Indonesia which is fought by the fighters and the youth themselves. Keep independence because independence is a gift of God," he said.
.
Ramses who is also one of the leaders of the Pepera fighters said that on May 1, 1963 was the day of the elimination of colonialism in the land of Papua from the Dutch colonial.
.
"Love the motherland, the Republic of Indonesia with a sense of belonging and devotion. The Unitary Republic of Indonesia has not changed the boundaries of Sabang to Merauke. Let's participate in development through education to create a just and equitable welfare," he said.
.
"Stop and throw away the conflict with the ideology of the Indonesian people. Let's defend the 4 pillars of nationality and no one should change them," he said.
.
Ramses said support for separatism was a violation of the UN consensus and betrayed the Pancasila and the 1945 Constitution. "For the younger generation of Papuans, let's use our youth to learn and do good things to develop the land of Papua within the framework of the Unitary Republic of Indonesia," he said.
